Destruction Derby is an arcade racing game from Psygnosis.  It was developed to launch at the same time as the PlayStation in Europe; unfortunately, it launched just a few weeks afterwards.
The game is based around a form of racing where your car's survival is more important than completing laps.  Crashes are encouraged, especially in the Wreckin' Racing game mode. 
Destruction Derby was an early example of system linking, where two players, using two copies of the game, two PlayStations and two TVs, could connect their systems together via a special cable.
